Jennifer's Testimony

​

I want to thank God for the change in my life when I gave my heart to Him at 19 years of age.

 

My mom was raised in a Church of God home and usually took us to church on Sunday mornings. My parents and us children lived about 1/4 mile from my Grandpa and Grandma's house, so Grandma, my Aunt Margaret, and Aunt Mary would take us to on Sunday evening and Wednesday evening.

I remember not knowing what "prayer meeting" was. I thought it was some type of business meeting that children weren't supposed to go to. I'm thankful for the moral good I was taught as a child, but still I knew I needed to make a decision to give my heart to God and let him direct me in life. I still struggled for many years about letting God have control.

When I was almost 18, in February of 1992, my sister and I had an opportunity to visit our Aunt and Uncle in Pennsylvania. They invited us to stay on and live with them. While there, I got a job and we attended a Church of God with them where my uncle was the pastor at the time.

 

On Sunday, June 20, 1993 during the altar service, I felt the Lord speaking to me and I got saved. God has helped me love and forgive others, making my life peaceful and truly happy.

 

God blessed me with an awesome husband, who loves the Lord, and 5 beautiful children.
